Hello From Utah...

I'm at a friends house watching her daughter while she picks up her sons from school and am grabbing this chance to post real quick (I'm having withdrawels)...Anyway, The family and I are here in Utah and having a blast. We leave tomorrow for Yellowstone National Park. I'm super excited because I have yet to see what people have said is a mouth dropping site. It's a 6 hour drive from here which kind of sucks because we just spent 12 hours driving out here. I guess I'm glad that the drive was in such a comfortable new car with an entertainment center to occupy what would otherwise be loud annoying kids :-) Watch for my complete report next week!

Comfortable In My Own Skin

I like to think of myself as "comfortable in my own skin" Sure, I don't wear make-up, I don't even own make-up. In fact the only make-up in this house has pictures of Hannah Montana on it and resides in a Hello Kitty purse in my daughter's room. I keep my womanly figure by eating my kids' leftovers and doing it in between feeding rice cereal to my 6 month old as well as attending the gym whenever I "feel" like it. For the past six months I've been basically a functioning zombie. I'm often caught in public with wrinkled clothes with the delectable scent of spit up as my heavenly aroma. My hair does get brushed and most days my teeth too. I put a bra on before I leave the house but not necessarily when I go out to get the mail. I try to take a shower once a day even if I don't wash my hair or shave my legs and lotion gets put on only out of necessity, like when I am wearing shorts or capri's. But I am comfortable in my skin.
So I've been playing on this website called myHeritage.com. It's quite fun. There are a lot of different adventures one can go on using photos of themselves or whomever. One adventure is the Celebrity Look A-Like. You upload a picture of yourself and then the computer gives you pictures of celebrities that look like you. Knowing that I was most likely going to post it on this blog, I picked out what I thought was a decent almost really good picture of myself and this is what I got:

Who would have thought that I looked like a black male??? And who the heck is Kian Egan? Cate Blanchett, Stevie Nicks...am I really that old looking? Come on! Maybe I should go blond... so I can really resemble Sharpay... errr, I mean, Ashley Tisdale. I wasn't satisfied so I decided to try a different photo of me. and this is what I got:

All Males! This sure gave my femininity a boost! Apparently I look Hispanic seeing everyone except for that blond headed Backstreet Boys little brother were Hispanic. So, I decided to use yet another photo. When I picked this photo out, I thought that I would use something more of myself, something that captured how I really feel day in and day out...and this is what I got:

FINALLY some Freakin' HOT sexy chicks! I knew I had it in me. I learned a lesson today...When you're just being yourself, being who you really are...You're a Freakin' Hot Sexy Chick!

Growing Up

I got Carly's six month pictures done last week. Ok, so she's almost 7 months, but I have to give myself props for getting her pictures done before she actually turned 7 months (yay Rachael!) I was worried about getting them done because let's just say that Carly isn't the "happiest" baby on earth, so I wasn't sure how the session was going to go. I've got to say, it was better than expected. Since Carly has learned to sit up, she's been a much happier baby and it sure shows in her pictures. I have a feeling that Carly is going to walk before she rolls over :-)


When I had only a few kids, I got their pictures done every six months. Since I'm not that crazy anymore (or maybe I'm just in denial), I've cut down to once a year around their birthdays. Since Raya turned 9 in June and Malia 6 in May, I took them along on this rather eventful day. When I got there, I thought that maybe I should have gotten Ethan's done too. I was kind of disappointed in myself for not dressing him accordingly. I got home and looked at his 4 year picture...ya, he looks the same so I'm good!

We've Upgrated!

My 14 year old car has finally met its match. I'm sad to see it go because it has been such a great car, but I am happy to announce the new arrival to our family!





We've upgrated to a newer version of our old car. We absolutely loved our Mazda MPV, so much that we got the same car (only newer!) I'm super excited!

My Vespa!

I sometimes enter contests online, but I am very skeptical when it comes to getting emails saying that I won something. I received an email last week from someone claiming that I won a contest from a radio station. It didn't say WHAT I won. I was skeptical but kept thinking about it because I did enter some contests from this particular radio station. After a lot of investigation work, I found that the person emailing me did in fact work for the radio station, so I called him. Turns out that I haven't actually won anything but I did qualify to win a 2008 LX50 Vespa from a local dealer. On August 2nd, I get to go down to Roseville Vespa along with 19 other people and get a key. If the key starts the Vespa...It's mine. It also pays for my M1license fee, but not tax and registration (Of course). I called Patrick to tell him. He was somewhat excited but said chances weren't very good. He proceeded to ask me to pick the number he was thinking of between 1 and 20. I chose 17...That was the number he was thinking of. I then said "I just won a Vespa!" With gas prices the way they are today, and a Vespa getting 70 miles per gallon, if I win, this will save us a ton of money in gas because Patrick would be riding it to work and with all that money we will save, maybe I will get a new van! I'm sooooo totally excited. I'll keep you all posted!
