Seven Years

Seven years and 18 minutes ago, Patrick and I welcomed our second beautiful daughter into this world.



Weighing in at 7lbs. 1 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long, Malia Dawn Durling was born!

Malia has been a blessing in our lives and having her sweet spirit in our home has been such a wonderful treat.

Wild Dandelion

First off, I just want to say that I do have other children besides Carly. Three other children to be exact. I do not play favorites when it comes to my kids nor do I prefer one over the other. I know that I have posted a lot about Carly these past few posts, but I really can't help all the crazy, funny, and exciting things she does and learns. With that being said (or wrote for that matter), here are some pictures of Carly while jumping on the trampoline. I've named these pictures "Wild Dandelion"...You'll see why.

Climbing Gene?

I've heard the stories time and time again about Patrick and his brother Anthony climbing on the roof of their home at the young ages of 3 and 4. I've seen that side of him get passed down to Malia. We call her the Monkey for a good reason. She has a great talent for climbing and I have found her on the roof of the house as well as a beam (over cement mind you) that is level with the roof. I've watched her scale the trampoline enclosure poles and make it to the roof and then back down. She's 6 years old.

What I didn't imagine was that the climbing gene Patrick possessed would fit more closely with another child of ours. Her name is Carly and she's 16 months old weighing in at a hefty 17 lbs and she can already do this:



I guess I need to make sure that when I'm not in her bedroom, I close the door...always!

I was messing around and took this picture of myself. Look at how black my hair is!! I guess that Native American blood I have in me is showing through...Maybe I should switch to team Jacob :-)

Why The Long Face?

I had my niece here over night a couple of days ago. She's about 4 months older than Carly. It's been said that she's been called the "easy button" and after having her for 30 hours straight, I believe it. After getting the kids ready for bed, I took some pictures...Carly wasn't having it!









So sad, yet so cute!
